Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FOUND COMMUNITY LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“FOUND,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the FOUND website at found.community and the FOUND mobile application for iOS and Android, together with related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following information directly from you:
- Account details: your full name, email address, phone number, and password. Passwords are stored only in encrypted (hashed) form — we never see or keep your plain-text password.
- Location details: your ZIP code, city, and state. We convert your ZIP code into approximate map coordinates so we can match you with community nearby. We do not collect continuous or precise GPS location from your device.
- Profile information: the photos you upload (a profile photo and additional highlight photos), a short bio, and the answers you provide during onboarding — such as your life stage, interests and activities, community goals, personality, and the church you attend.
- Connections and activity: the people you connect or “wave” with, the groups you create or join, and similar activity within the Service.
- Messages and posts: the content of direct messages and group posts you send through the Service.
- Contact and support messages: the type of inquiry (for example, Give, Invest, or Donate) and anything you write to us.
- Payment information: if you make a contribution through our website, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of the transaction but do not store full payment card numbers.
We also automatically collect:
- Device and technical information — such as your device type, operating system, app version, browser, and approximate region derived from your IP address;
- A push notification token, if you enable notifications, so we can deliver alerts to your device;
- Standard server logs, to keep the Service secure and working.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account;
- To match you with relevant local Christian community based on your location, interests, and life stage;
- To power messaging, connections, and groups within the Service;
- To send you updates, launch announcements, and — if you enable them — push notifications;
- To respond to your messages and support requests;
- To process contributions and keep records of them;
- To understand interest by region so we can plan our growth;
- To review reported content and protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats;
- To meet legal and compliance obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Service, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Supabase — secure authentication, database, and file storage;
- Stripe — payment processing for website contributions;
- Resend — delivery of our emails;
- Netlify — website hosting;
- Expo, the Apple Push Notification service, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of push notifications;
- Apple App Store and Google Play — distribution of the mobile app.
What other users see. FOUND is designed to connect people, so your profile information — including your name, photos, bio, and onboarding answers — is visible to other FOUND users. Your email address, phone number, password, and exact ZIP code are never shown to other users.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of FOUND or others. If FOUND is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Aggregated data
We may review and share aggregated, de-identified statistics — for example, the number of signups in a given region — with partners or investors. Aggregated data does not identify you personally.
5. Data storage and security
Your information is stored on servers operated by our infrastructure providers in the United States. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information as described below, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Delete your account at any time from within the app — go to your Profile and tap “Delete My Account.” This permanently removes your profile, photos, connections, messages, and any groups you own. This action cannot be undone.
- Opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link in any message;
- Turn push notifications on or off in the app's settings or your device settings;
- Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@found.community. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
8. Cookies
The Service uses essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
